Chef Chatree Pangsil

Since securing a dream move to Kisso Japanese Restaurant at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok some 16 outstanding years ago, Master Chef Chatree Pangsil has added "celebrity chef" to his titles, along with distinguishing himself as one of the top practitioners of the arts and crafts of in-season, rigorously authentic, classic and creative Japanese menus. 

He was first immersed in Japanese culinary culture over a period of four years spent at two top Japanese restaurants in Bangkok. At Kisso, he has consistently perfected his craft and cultivated his creativity in the company of some of the most highly skilled Japanese chefs, both resident at the restaurant and visiting as special guest chefs from Japan. Today, Chef Chatree is undoubtedly a star practitioner of the fine art of Japanese cuisine in his own right.

For a prime example, look no further than his exceedingly appetizing new "Kani Avocado Salad" menu; a subtle balance of crab meat and ripe avocados. A dish steeped in the great Japanese culinary tradition, it is at the same time definitively modern, representing Chef Chatree's accumulated experience and expertise enhanced with his insights into contemporary trends and acute culinary vision.
